As mentioned earlier, Karl will be teaching the first Rock and Blues Master Guitar Class at The Collective
in New York City (541 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan) on Thursday October 26th at roughly 7:30
or 8pm. Tickets are available through Karl for $13 in advance, and $15 day of the show. Make sure
to get your tickets early, as they are going fast, and there's a very limited number of seats
available.
Michael Cartellone (drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd) will be playing with Karl, along with
Bruce Terkildsen (Far Cry) and Karl's friend, Thomas, on keyboards. This is definitely
NOT going to be a typical Far Cry gig. Where else are you going to get to see Karl
play with the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd and a rockin' keyboard player, and be allowed to
ask Karl how he does what he does for a living? |
September 12th, 2006
Due to circumstances beyond Far Cry's control, the owner of Adelphia72 has decided to
cancel all Tuesday night entertainment at Adelphia72. This means that all Tuesday night
Far Cry acoustic gigs have been canceled. We apologize for the late notice
on this, but we just found out 10 minutes ago ourselves. All other dates are going on as
scheduled, and we look forward to seeing you there.
Also, another Far Cry note. There are no gigs scheduled after December 2006, as Karl and
Bruce have collectively decided to take a break for a few months starting in January.
Bruce is going to try to
quit smoking, which effects vocal chords, and Karl is going to be spending lots of time on
other projects. So, make sure to get your fill of Far Cry while you can.
Karl is just about finished recording a new full length album with Michael Cartellone (Lynyrd
Skynyrd drummer). He has recorded all the guitars, and will be playing some of the bass tracks,
and even a lead vocal on a track. We'll let you know when he have details on availability and
completion dates.
Karl is also in the early stages of co-writing with Joe Lynn Turner for Joe's next solo project.
There are already several songs written and ready to be recorded, and we'll let you know as
more information becomes available.
Karl is also still recording his acoustic guitar album. He has pretty much recorded all the
acoustic guitars, and is in the process of starting to record bass on it. We'll let you know
as more details develop.
Karl will be teaching the first Rock and Blues Master Guitar Class at The Collective
in New York City (541 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan) on Thursday October 26th at roughly 7:30
or 8pm. You can purchase tickets by calling 212-741-0091 Ext 107 (ask for Tony). You can also
find out more information on www.thecoll.com.
Attendees will be able to ask any question about how Karl does what he does for a living, from
the gear he uses, to technique, to who he's played with and everything in between. This is a
great opportunity, so make sure to come down. There will be raffles and giveaways from Karl's
endorsees, Digitech and DR Strings as well as other companies. Karl will also be performing
live with a band.

May 11, 2006
Far Cry - The acoustic nights at Adelphia72 in Farmingdale, NJ are going very well. Karl has had
a number of friends, fellow musicians, and many of his own students up to play a few songs, which
is very unusual for a teacher to do with his own band. It's a great night to come out and see Far Cry
in a great restaurant. There are
more dates booked for May and June, so make sure to check out the
Tour Page for dates as they become available.
Karl is a over half finished playing all the rhythm and lead guitars on an as yet untitled
project being produced by Bob Held
with Michael Cartellone, the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Karl is just about
done with rhythm guitar tracks, and will be doing leads for the full length album as well.
The drums and guitars
sound unbelievable, so it should be a GREAT sounding album. Karl will also be singing and playing guitars on
a remake of
The James Gang song "Stop". The rest of the album is all original tunes written by Bob Held and other
writers that Bob collaborated with.
Karl is also still working on the acoustic guitar record, and has decided to do all the
guitars and bass himself. There are still details to work out on whether he will have
anybody else on the album doing percussion or other instruments. We'll keep you informed. |
May 4, 2006

by Andy Lye. Make sure to check it out, as it's a great review!
Karl will be playing with Michael Cartellone (Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer) and his band on
Monday filling in for Will Lee (David Letterman's band). Karl will then be playing with
Cartellone again on Tuesday May 2nd at The Cutting Room in
New York City jamming with the band. This will be a great opportunity to see some great music
played by great musicians. Rumor has it this is by industry invite only, so not sure if it is
open to the public or not.
Since Karl will be playing with Michael on Tuesday May 2nd, that means the Far Cry date at
Adelphia72 will have to be canceled for that Tuesday. They'll be back the following Tuesday as
scheduled. |

Adelphia 72 in Farmingdale, which is their only South Jersey appearance, and Jammers in Avenel,
which is going to be newly rennovated. Make sure to come by and show your support.
NAMM 2006 - Karl attended the NAMM Convention in Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on
January 19th thru 21st. He also played in Van Helsing's Curse in the Grove of Anaheim for the PRS
Guitars show. Other
performers included Joe Lynn Turner (who Karl played with), Pat Travers, Al Dimeola, Michael Bolton,
Paul Reed Smith's All-Star Jam, plus a TON of other musicians.
Karl would like to personally thank the following for their support at the NAMM Convention and PRS show:
Wynn Krozack of PRS Guitars for being such an awesome artist rep and most especially for being a great person,
and Paul Reed Smith of PRS Guitars for putting on such an awesome show with so many legends and great
musicians all on one stage, Mark Wood, Denny Colt, Phil Carson Management,
Dee Snider and Joe Franco, Denny and Will for providing great house and monitor sound,
and the entire Van Helsing's Curse cast and crew for being great band mates.
Most of all, Karl would like to thank his good friend Joe Lynn Turner,
for without him, the entire Van Helsing's Curse show at NAMM would not have been possible.
